• The City of Flatonia maintains a robust parks system that encompasses different geographical areas of the city.  The parks system consists of the following parks:
    1. Central Memorial Park
    2. Garbade Park
    3. 7-Acre Park
    4. McWhirter Park
    5. Flatonia Rail Park
    6. Flato Park (new and undeveloped at this time)
    Park Hours
    • Monday through Friday:
      • 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM when school is in session
      • 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM when school is not in session
    • Saturday and Sunday:
      • 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM

City of Flatonia Amenity Rental & Park/Recreation Calendar
  • The City of Flatonia rents the pavilion and gazebo at McWhirter Park. The pool may also be rented for special events in the evening during the summer season.
  • The gazebos on Main Street (west of City Hall) and in Memorial Park may also be rented.
  • When an amenity is not rented, it is first come, first served as are all other park features (splashpad, picnic tables, playscape etc.).
  • A calendar is provided below that shows dates that the various amenities are rented or not available. Visit the City's McWhirter Park page at this link to learn more about rental costs, deposits, forms, and rules.

City of Flatonia Facilities

Flatonia Golf Course

The Flatonia Golf Course opened in 1993 and is located at:
1245 East U.S. Hwy 90
Flatonia, Texas 78941

This Par 36, 9-hole course measure 3,056 yards and has some challenging holes for all experience levels.  Varying tee blocks (yellow, red, white and blue) offer multiple combinations of course length and tee shot angles to the fairways or greens.  All greens are Bermuda grass.  The course has a full service clubhouse with drinks and snacks, and offers golf cart rentals as well as range balls for the full-length driving range. 

Alcohol is allowed on the golf course but must be purchased at the club house; no outside alcohol is allowed on the course.

American Legion Hall

The American Legion Hall of Flatonia is located at:
1225 East U.S. Hwy 90
Flatonia, Texas 78941

The American Legion Hall is home to Post 94 of the American Legion and is available for private party rental.
