    The Flatonia City Council election will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 7AM - 7PM. Early voting begins on April 19, 2021 and ends on April 27, 2021. 

    This is a joint election for the City of Flatonia and Flatonia ISD. Both early voting and election day voting will be conducted at Flatonia City Hall, 125 E. South Main Street, City Council Chambers.

    EARLY VOTING DATES & TIMES

    April 19th and April 26th are extended early voting hours from 7AM - 7PM.

    The remaining early voting days are 8 AM - 4 PM (open during lunch).

    Election Code requires that the names of those who have voted early be provided to the public. You may visit the Fayette County Elections website to view the voters' names. The full list of those who have voted in this election can be obtained here for your convenience.

    To view the list for any Fayette County area, go to the Fayette County Elections page and find the blue bar named “May 1, 2021 Voter repots”.  It will be located towards the bottom half of the list.   Click on the drop down arrow and once there, you will find a link (currently inactive) for the 3 different elections:

    • Joint Election LGISD_City of LG_City of Ellinger
    • Joint Election FLISD_City of Flatonia
    • City of Fayetteville

    Click on the corresponding link to locate the names of voters who have voted early in the May 1st elections being held in Fayette County.   These names will be posted by 11am each day starting on Tuesday, April 20 through Wednesday, April 28.

    On March 18, 2020, the governor issued a proclamation authorizing (but not requiring) all political subdivisions holding general or special elections on May 2, 2020, to postpone that election to the November 3, 2020, uniform election date.  Due to the fact that Governor Abbott extended his social distancing order to last until April 30, 2020 and the increasing concern for individuals who will be voting and who will be working at voting locations, on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, the Flatonia City Council voted to postpone the November 3, 2020 General Election to Tuesday, November 3, 2020.  This election will be to elect a mayor and two council persons.

    By postponing their election date, the political subdivision is preserving all candidate filings and ballot order actions that have already been taken. The postponement does not have the effect of reopening candidate filings.  Those candidates who have already filed and drawn for a place on the ballot will not change.

    The City of Flatonia will be holding a general election on Saturday May 2, 2020.  At this time, the seats that will be up for election in the general election are held by Mayor Bryan Milson and Councilmen Mark Eversole and Donna Cockrell.

    The first day to file an application for a place on the ballot for the election is Wednesday, January 15, 2020.  This is also the first day to file a declaration of write-in candidacy.  The last day to file an application for a place on the ballot is February 14, 2020.  The last day to file a declaration of write-in candidacy for the general election is Monday, February 17, 2020.  These dates are mandated by state law.

    Please come by City Hall at 125 E. South Main, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm to pick up information for filing for any of these positions.

    El 18 de marzo de 2020, el gobernador emitió una proclamación que autoriza (pero no requiere) que todas las subdivisiones políticas que celebren elecciones generales o especiales el 2 de mayo de 2020 pospongan esa elección a la fecha de elección uniforme del 3 de noviembre de 2020. Debido al hecho de que el Gobernador Abbott extendió su orden de distanciamiento social hasta el 30 de abril de 2020 y la creciente preocupación por las personas que votarán y trabajarán en los lugares de votación, el martes 31 de marzo de 2020, el Ayuntamiento de Flatonia votó para posponer las elecciones generales del 3 de noviembre de 2020 al martes 3 de noviembre de 2020. Esta elección será para elegir un alcalde y dos miembros del consejo.

    Al posponer su fecha de elección, la subdivisión política está preservando todas las presentaciones de candidatos y acciones de orden de votación que ya se han tomado. El aplazamiento no tiene el efecto de reabrir las presentaciones de candidatos. Los candidatos que ya han presentado y sorteado para un lugar en la boleta no cambiarán.

    La ciudad de Flatonia llevara a cabo la eleccion general el sabado 2 de mayo, 2020.  En este momento, los lugares que estaran para reeleccion seran el mayor Bryan Milson los concejales Mark Eversole y Donna Cockrell.

    El primer dia para archivar la aplicacion para un lagar en la boltea de eleccion es el miercoles 15 de enero 2020.  Este tambien es el primer dia para presentar la declaracion por escrito del candidato.  El ultimo dia para archivar la aplicacio para un lugar un la boleta de la Ellecion General sera el viernes, 14 de febrero 2020.  El ultimo dia para que un cadidato por escrito declare la candidature es lunes, 17 de febrero 2020.   Estas fechas son mantado por ley estatal.

    Por favor, pase por el Ayuntamieto (City Hall) en 125 E South Main St., de lunes - viernes, de 8 am - 5 pm para recoger informacion para solicitar cualquiera de estas posiciones.
